Program Manager of the Freedom Project

Caryn Sowa works closely with the speakers, faculty, visiting scholars and Adam Smith fellows to manage the program and all events of the Freedom Project.

Caryn Sowa served as the Program Manager of the Freedom Project until June 2021.  She worked closely with the speakers, faculty, visiting scholars and Adam Smith fellows to manage the program and all events of the Freedom Project.  She managed the day to day of the project including the budget, and oversaw the student internship program. Her background is in event management, business and theatre operations and she has worked with the Freedom Project at Wellesley College for eight years.  Previous to Wellesley College, she managed the Wilbur Theatre for thirteen years along with the Colonial Theatre.  She has an extensive background in events and operations and some of her positions included managing the entertainment and half-time shows for the New England Patriots, working in events and operations at the formerly named Harborlights, now called Blue Hills Bank Pavilion and event consulting for Harvard University Publishing and for various events around the Boston area.  She enjoys traveling, music, volunteering and spending time with her family at the beach.  She lives in Natick with her husband and her son, William.
