Google Apps for Education is Wellesley College's system for email, shared documents, group discussions, courses, group websites, and more. We recommend using Google's Chrome web browser when working within the Google Apps product suite for best performance.

Google Updates 5/7/2013
Google released four significant updates to their Google Apps software suite. Click below for more information on chatting in Google Drive, the Google Groups interface, email and contacts import services and the new ability to add events to Google Calendar from Gmail.
 
 
Gmail Compose Update 4/16/2013

Google is introducing a redesigned compose experience in Gmail that saves you time, uses less screen space, and is simple to use. The new compose experience opens a window at the bottom of your inbox. You can compose multiple messages at once, search through your inbox and even reply to other messages all while keeping your new draft open.

NOTE: All users will be able to temporarily opt-out of this new experience.

Chrome Requesting Accounts

There are two ways to get a new @wellesley.edu address for your department/organization.

1) Consider trying a Google Group. While you won't have access to Google Drive this way you will immediately be able to start sending and receiving emails with or without attachments.  You can easily give multiple people access to this Group or keep it to yourself. You can even send as this email in Gmail. We believe these functions should satisfy most needs.

2) However, if you do need access to Google Drive then request a dedicated account through the help desk. There is a processing time of 2-3 business days for dedicated accounts to be activated and available to you.
